Healthy Heart Center

The staff at Comanche County Memorial Hospital’s Healthy Heart Center is here to help you take the first step toward healing your heart by making heart healthy options a part of your daily life.

Your heart continuously pumps blood and carries oxygen to every muscle and organ. The average heart beats 100,000 times a day and in a 70-year lifetime, it beats more than 2.5 billion times. But after time even this efficient, busy organ can begin to wear down.

Benefiting from the Healthy Heart Center

The Healthy Heart Center is a vital key to regaining your health if you’ve had a medical history of heart complications:

  • Heart attack (MI)
  • Angioplasty (PTCA)
  • Valve replacements
  • Coronary bypass surgery

Education and prevention

At the Healthy Heart Center, you’ll learn how to prevent further heart complications with an active lifestyle and smart, informed choices. Our program educates you on how to control smoking, high blood pressure, and high blood cholesterol. It also teaches the importance of exercising, reducing stress, and eating healthy.

We are here to help

We know any illness can take a heavy toll on your emotions and body and our program can help you cope with the emotional stress of recovery. The program is three times a week, for six to twelve weeks. During this time you will engage with other patients going through the program along with supportive highly trained staff who are determined to get your life back on track.

Our medical staff is always near, checking your progress and heart measurements with our telemetry heart monitoring system.

Healthy heart, longer life

An unhealthy lifestyle, including unhealthy habits, like smoking and a diet full of fatty foods and cholesterol, combined with the stresses of everyday life, can lead to heart problems. Trading these unhealthy habits for a healthier lifestyle can make a big difference in how you feel. Our program helps you adjust to these changes in hope of counteracting and even reversing the effects of heart disease.
